New Braunfels Community Information

New Braunfels, located about 45 minutes Northeast of San Antonio, Texas is a charming town with a population of 66,000 people. Built around the Guadalupe and Comal Rivers, New Braunfels was founded by German immigrants and carries a rich history of German tradition. The Historic Gruene district is home to the oldest remaining dance hall in Texas - Gruene Hall, and a number of other historic buildings that reflect the towns’ German heritage. New Braunfels artfully mixes historical significance and the charm of a small Texas town, creating a unique atmosphere where so many great community events take place.

Visitors and locals alike enjoy the dance hall, the annual Wurstfest, floating the river, and of course the endless entertainment at Schlitterbahn Water Park & Resort. The local rivers, surrounding parks make for great outdoor fun, for those who love to golf, to fish, or paddle board. Be sure to enjoy the open-air farmers' market with live music that takes place in the Main Plaza downtown!
